Gasoline Price Drops to 4,250 Riel, Diesel to 4,150 Riel

Phnom Penh, March 11, 2024: In a move aimed at easing the burden on citizens, the Ministry of Commerce announced today that the prices of gasoline and diesel will decrease by 50 riel per liter over the next ten days, from March 11 to 20, 2024. Gasoline will now be available at 4,250 riel per liter, while diesel will be priced at 4,150 riel per liter.

This decision, according to the announcement, is part of the ongoing effort by the Royal Government of Cambodia, under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, to alleviate the financial strain on the population. The government has allocated $6.5 million to subsidize the reduction in fuel prices, continuing the policy initiated during the sixth mandate under the leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

The reduction in fuel prices is expected to provide relief to consumers and contribute to the stability of living costs. This move comes amidst efforts by the government to address economic challenges and support the welfare of Cambodian citizens.
